How did you get into the fitness industry?
I was an avid runner in my early 20s & fell into yoga to keep my body feeling healthy & balanced. At a friend’s suggestion, I signed up for a yoga teacher training in 2010 & started teaching yoga in 2011. At the same time, I continued to challenge my inner competitor & shifted from 10k & half marathon racing. I was too scared to attempt a full marathon at the time, so I decided to try a sprint triathlon! I immediately loved the triple sport, and took on a longer distance each consecutive race season. The more I raced & the longer I taught yoga, the more I realized that fitness was a career I was chasing. Over the years I took every opportunity to learn & train & gain more knowledge within fitness I could- this included yoga sculpt, bootcamps, cycling, pre-/postnatal yoga, FIT & soon NASM personal training certification!
Where can we find you when you’re not teaching class?
At home or at the park with my two boys, Declan (3) & Cillian (9mo). Drinking coffee/wine/beer around Seattle with my husband, Patrick. Or napping 😉
What’s your one piece of advice for someone who wants to live a healthier life?
Find a workout that you enjoy, that motivates you to show up & work hard,-and a community that keeps you coming back for me!
What is your guilty pleasure food and/or drink?
Cold brew coffee (not guilty at all actually), gin martini (if I’m feeling sassy)
Who is your celebrity crush?
Ryan Reynolds. And Blake Lively. They’re basically the most beautiful couple ever.
